A native Arizonan, Aron Weiss grew up in the East Valley, attending school and camps at the
Tri-City JCC and Temple Emanuel. Throughout high school, he was an active member of
Mountain Region BBYO’s Rabbi Marvin Meir Reznikoff Chapter while also working in diverse
capacities as a counselor and advisor for the East Valley JCC’s camp programs.
After studying Education and Humanities at Northern Arizona University, Aron taught at the
East Valley Jewish Day School for two years before moving to Salt Lake City, where he helped
establish elementary and secondary programs at a Montessori school serving students of diverse
abilities. In 2018, he returned to Arizona and joined Tempe Preparatory Academy. He currently
serves as Dean of Faculty and teaches 10th-grade Humanities, overseeing a faculty of 35
teachers and leading hiring, professional development, and state compliance initiatives.
Aron and his wife, Meghan Tauber, have been members of Temple Chai for the past three years.
In 2024, they were married in a ceremony officiated by Rabbi Koppel. Their family is actively
involved in synagogue life, with their oldest daughter attending Hebrew school and their
youngest set to begin this fall.
Aron is passionate about building a vibrant and welcoming Jewish community for young adults
and families. Having benefited from strong Jewish institutions throughout his life, he is
committed to helping ensure that Temple Chai remains a thriving spiritual home for future
generations of Jewish families in the Valley.
