Temple Chai, a thriving and growing Reform Jewish congregation of more than 500 member families in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a full-time Member Services Assistant. We wish to hire someone to work collaboratively with temple clergy, staff, congregants, and volunteers. We are looking for a passionate, reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual who enjoys interacting and helping people.
The primary responsibilities are:
Provide account support for members including setting up accounts, processing payments, generating statements, answering questions, etc.
Handle all Capital Campaign mailings and enter data into master spreadsheets.
Send out monthly donation acknowledgements.
Coordinate weekly challah and linen orders, coordinate all catering re: social hall rentals i.e., Kiddush lunches, B-Mitzvah parties etc.
Prepare daily signage boards.
Provide administrative and financial support for the Controller, including collection and entry of credit card receipts, assistance with weekly check runs, new vendor set up, researching payment inquiries.
Assist with phones and front desk duties as needed.
Prepare gift bags for each B-Mitzvah student.
Coordinate Shabbat greeters.
Assist with administrative tasks related to annual gala.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work collaboratively.
Strong communication skills and positive customer service mentality
Excellent organizational and ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to work collaboratively and collegially with colleagues.
Experience with a member database software a plus
Knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience handling/protecting sensitive and private data.
Ability to uphold and maintain confidentiality.
Must receive/maintain DPS fingerprint clearance.
Technical Skills:
Synagogue management system (e.g., ShulCloud) a bonus
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, or general accounting principals
