Debbie Popiel White,
originally from New York, is a graduate of Hofstra University
and has shared her career between the corporate sector and
teaching. A former early childhood educator, Debbie has been
actively involved in social action throughout the community
working with The United Way, American Cancer Society, Watkins
Overflow Shelter and American Express’ Annual Employee Giving
Campaign.
Prior to her appointment as director of Early Childhood
Education, she has held positions on several committees at
Temple Chai, is a former grade level rep for the Parent
Committee at Religious School and a successful fundraising
chairperson for the Parent Association of Temple Chai Childhood
Center. She has created and instructed numerous enrichment
programs throughout the Valley as well as teaching Gymboree. As
an active member at Temple Chai, she has taught third grade and
Israeli folkdance at Temple Chai's Religious School, was a
leader of Tot Shabbat, a youth service for children, facilitator
of Mishpacha, a parent and child class at the Temple and a Chai
Kids Advisor for seventh and eight graders.
She is married to Gregory, Director of Business
Development with Grovesite, a web collaboration company in
Phoenix. Their blended family includes Samuel, Damien and
Gabriella. She and her family live in Scottsdale and enjoy
traveling, going to the movies and spending time together
outside playing sports.
