The ECC Parent Teacher Organization

PATCH stands for Parents and Teachers of Chai. It's the Temple Chai Early Childhood Center's (ECC) parent/teacher organization. As parents, it's our connection to the school, whether it's fundraising, social events or helping out our fabulous teachers. Each ECC parent is automatically a member of PATCH – there are no additional fees to join.

We believe that one of the most important things about being a Jewish parent is role modeling, or being a dugma, which is Hebrew for role model. It is crucial that your children see you parti cipati ng in Jewish life, specifi cally, their Jewish life. PATCH gives you that opportunity.

And what does PATCH do? We run several fundraisers for the school, including our Spring Fundraiser and Art Auction that raises funds to go towards new programming, music, art, field trips and much more. Among other things, those monies are paying for our new designated art room, including a new potter's wheel and kiln. We also hold fundraisers through CPK, Chick Fil-A & Barnes & Noble where all you need to do is eat or shop on a specific night and the school receives a percentage of the money spent.

Our Caring Committee distributes meals to assist our preschool families experiencing the joy of a new baby or the sorrow of a death in their family. The committee also sends birthday cards to each student. We also sponsor a series of Girls' Nights Out.

So what can you do? We'd love to have you serve on our fundraising, caring or social committees. If you are stretched too thin and don't have time for that, you can still support our events and fundraisers – many of which take place in the evenings or weekends. Parents and family members also contribute by assisting with an activity in the classroom, attending field trips with their children, or serving as a room mom or dad. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or friend, we'd love to have you join PATCH.
